OP, can you add in the part that mentions that they have given a 2 year extension on what was his original 8 year contract please. His original contract was until 2031, this extension takes him to 2033. That’s a 9 year contract.

Is it huge? I mean it’s deserved, he’s our best player by a mile but he was already under contract until 2031. Obviously it’s more money but still.

I don’t understand this from Chelsea’s point of view though. You already had him locked up on 75 a week for 7 more years. This feels like a lot of money to pay for 2 years way in the future that you don’t know if you want.
