Joshua Kimmich on Leon Goretzka not being in the squad: "It's not my decision. From a player's point of view, I'd like to be with him on the pitch. Everyone knows that we're good friends, so I feel a bit sorry for him. But as I said, it's not my decision but the decision of the coach and the club. I don't know about the talks they had" [ZDF]

Kimmich: "The two quick goals gave us the calm we needed. Not everything was perfect today but we were determined to win and advance to the next round"

On being back in midfield: "I've always said that I try to have fun on the pitch no matter the position. When you win 4-0, then everything's fine"

Vincent Kompany: "I'm happy for the team first and foremost. We got off to a good start and took a 2-0 lead. I'm particularly happy that we kept a clean sheet. I've had a long career as a player and know that this kind of game is not always easy. We were serious and disciplined. 4-0 is a good result, we move on"

Kompany on how he got to know his players quickly: "By talking a lot to the players. But there are other people at the club who have known the players for longer. For me the most important thing is what I see. What the players have done in the past doesn't matter to me. Things are getting better bit by bit"

Kompany on Goretzka: "The only thing I can say is what I already said before the game. As a club, we always want to be clear with the players. We do that internally within our family. We don't need to say anything publicly"

Thomas Müller: "We were serious, but not without mistakes. We wanted to implement a lot of what we have worked on in the last few weeks. I feel good, I'm in good shape physically, I did my job and had a few good moves, I'm happy about that. If you look at how we work off the ball and the way we go into duels, you can notice a pattern and a difference to what we didn't do so well last year. I thought it was a good performance today, even though there's still room for improvement with the ball."

Thomas Müller on Goretzka: "Leon is not having an easy situation, but he's been training really excellently. There are always tough decisions to be made by the coach and the club. We'll see what happens in the next days and weeks, but Leon is one of us"

Serge Gnabry: "We started well, had a lot of possession and dangerous moves. We gave it our all from the start because we want to stay in the Pokal longer this year. We were fired up and tried to play good football. There was a good energy in there. We're really enjoying it at the moment. In the end, we deserved to win by such a big margin"
