Who is, according to you the worst manager of Real Madrid in the 21st century? And who is the best one?

  1. Comparing Queiroz or Luxemburgo to Benitez in insanity. They had a team full of stars in decay. Rafa picked up a team that had all the ingredients for greatness and worked his ass off to make everyone look bad and for the team to collectively play worse. Lopetegui had to try to make a post-Cristiano Real Madrid fight for things and just couldn’t. He could’ve done more and the team could’ve done better under him, but following ZZ and the Ronaldo era was always going to be a tall order.

    For the best, it’s hard to overstate what Mourinho did: he turned a team that seemed curse to die in early knockout stages of UCL into a team that was a missed penalty, a bad red card, and a distracted half away from total glory at the time of peak Messi and peak Guardiola’s Barcelona. That’s huge. But Ancelotti not only was able to finally make that team sing, he set a foundation so strong that ZZ was able to bring that together and let it run with minimal changes. Not only that, he came back and led a huge generational transition with utter success. So it has to be Carlo.

  2. I wish Zizou is still here. I wish he never left :”(

  3. Worst is clearly Benitez, i am actually surprised that he got the job in the first place. Awful coach through and through. The best is a hard one, I liked Mourinho because he sort of changed the mentality again in the club, broke the goalrecord and played amazing with our team despite having Coentrão and Khedira in our team, my rating for him drops a bit though because of the chaos with Barca and especially Guardiola. The best for me is clear and obviuos, its Zizou. Yes we had one of the best teams ever in La liga (almost as good as barcas team under pep) but we played fantastic, won everything, and the team had a good atmospehere.

  4. Lopetegui wasn’t given enough time here, he shouldn’t be on this list

  5. Worst is easily Benitez. Had a great team and was a complete disgrace

  6. Bernd Schuster. Real struggled to even stay top 3 before Juande Ramos took over and went on a long unbeaten streak (only to get 2-6’d by Barca but that’s another story…)

  7. Queiroz and Zizou

    EDIT: I’d also suggest pellegrini as the worst

  8. I would say the best was Mourinho because he rekindled the team with a winning mentality. It’s true he didn’t have as much success as Zidane or Ancelotti, but the competition was fiercer in those years.

  9. Looetegui was a shitshow from start to finish. My heart will always be with Zidane

  10. 💯 Benitez has to be the worst coach our club has appointed during the past decade.

    Benitez really pissed off the senior players of our team at that time and especially those CR7 and Modric stories were so hilarious and funny . 😂🤣 Just read somewhere that Benitez had instructed Modric to not use trivela like wtf was that dude smoking.

    Perez just made a blunder while going for Benitez as his man management was always horrible and he had a history of clashes at his previous clubs and our team during that time needed a man manager who could handle the superstars like CR7, Bale ,Ramos and others and there’s a reason guys like Don Carlo and Zidane enjoyed so much success as they knew how to get the most out of the players.

    Best – Mourinho, Don Carlo and Zidane.

  11. Lakerdude will tell you to add Carlo Ancelotti to this picture because

    * checks notes

    “He’s been bailed out last season by Bellingham with his individual brilliance and clutch goals”

  12. The only game I saw live was that 0-0 against fucking Malaga at home. Get fucked, Rafa.
