I can completely understand where he is coming from. It’s always hard to compare legends and everyone will have their own top 5 that is subjective to their taste of football.

Modric eclipsed Zidane for me 3 or 4 years ago. Fenómeno would be #1 was it not for injuries.

If the list is for the player’s contribution for Madrid then it’d be correct, except I would keep Cristiano at 1 because he’s one of the main reasons for the UCLs at his time at Madrid. I love Modric tho, glad he stayed for another year

I think it’s just a challenge that you have to rank 5 players blindly. You don’t know the lineup so you have to guess where to put a player and you can’t change where you ranked the previous pick.

I don’t wanna discredit modric he is a great player but i honestly think he is way too overrated. Even marcelo (arguably one of the best backs ever to exist) didn’t get praise as much as him.
Also idk the mind of putting zidane below modric as well.
Just switch CR7 and Modric and you good.
If it’s about the contributions to the club, from the list, noone tops cristano Ronaldo, from outside the list, only the likes of De Stefano gives competition.
Sometimes we forget to appreciate what he did, may be it’s too soon, the gravity of who he was and what he did will sink in slowly.He’s a once in a century player, we just can’t compare that man to others easily. A true GOAT.
I think he is absolutely right. I know there are a lot of Ronaldo Stans here, but Modric is overall bigger legend for Real Madrid. True RM era and success we have witnesed didn’t start with Ronaldo, but with Modric, he was the glue, later with Kroos that connected and held together that RM team with BBC, and in all later successes. Yes, he wasn’t on the scoresheet very often, Ozil probably has more asists, but for those who really know and understand football, these are the most valuable players on the field, brain and heart of the team. On top of that, this is the guy that always left his everything on the pitch, Bernabeu crowd, toughest in the world never whistled him, and he was met with ovations at every stadium he played in. And in the end he never created drama in the locker room, never made any problems about his salary, the guy just wanted to play for RM no matter what. He even accepted being the bench player when he could easily go and make 300-500 milions in Saudi Arabia. That’s something Cristiano, Ramos, Benzema, even Zidane wouldn’t have accepted. This, together with Modric being the most decorated player in RM history, his incredible talent and consistency he kept over the years where he plays in the biggest club in the world at the highest level while his peers are in SA, MLS or Japan, makes him the biggest legend of RM and our best player.
Not being negative guys. Just curious to see know why Kroos is so highly rated when majority of guys here are not even ranking him amongst their top 5.
