So weird. He played every minute during preseason only to be loaned out. Even with Jacobo most likely featuring in the first team, Tchou is going to be the one playing CB if the shit hits the fan. And unless Alaba comes back with a running start, Tchou is going to be that backup until at least 2025. We are already a player short in midfield compared to last season and we have (best scenario) a whole lot of more games to play. Martin is IMO a player that would have been needed.
Clearly the staff felt different tho, and they know better than me, that’s for sure.
But the whole summer with him is once again an indication that La Fabrica is almost like a completely different organisation to the first team and there is close to no long term plan with incorporating academy players. Just loan out/buyback the top of the pile and hope they are good enough to make it on their own.
