Downing Street prepares plan for announcing death of Larry the cat

Downing Street officials are preparing a “media plan” to announce the eventual passing of Larry the cat, The Independent understands.

Larry has become a widely loved fixture of Downing Street and is often seen outside the door to Number 10 during major political events and news broadcasts.

The 17-year-old ‘chief mouser’ is thought to be in his final years, having already outlived the average lifespan for a tabby cat.

  1. Looks like Kire will be takin a trip to Battersea😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤🙏🙏👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧😸😸🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐾🐾😻😻

  2. I wonder if Larry feels sad when PM's leave and new ones come. Not everyone is going to pay him the best attention. Some may not like cats as much as others.

  3. I hope they don’t have to publish this obituary yet for years to come. Larry is one of the very few stories on the political stage that brings smiles, even love, on the part of the public.

  4. In fact, Larry, the Chief Mouser over the years has become a popular icon at 10 Downing Street London.

Indeed, the Prime Ministers of the UK had spared some time in the past few decades to have a snapshot with him. Even, Sunak's seen there.

Thankfully, there are still many animal lovers around at 10 Downing Street London to take care of it.

  5. Well my cat is 16 in November, I am planning to celebrate her birthday, as she will be the oldest pet we have had, to negative for poor Larry.
Betty says good afternoon Larry. ❤️❤️

  6. Yes true. You mustn’t decide how long anyone can live you mustn’t go for any euthanasia that would be cruel.
Yes proper diet (protein and electrolyte source ) and care and love are few basic the things Larry and animals deserve.

  7. Larry should get the chance to choose and train a successor kitten. He has important skills that could be passed on.

  8. THEY are soooooooooo fortunate to have LARRY!!! Kudos to the Brits for understanding the value of our pets….especially Cats. …from California

  9. Our cat, Solomon, lived to be 21. Vet said he was the oldest cat he had in his practice. We adopted him when he was 6 months old from a shelter. He was slated to be euthanize the next day. Was the best addition to our family. So, "Long live Larry!"
