I feel mota got his players , but the team still has deadwood to get rid of

  2. Even if we still have players we need to sell, this transfer window has been a complete 180 degree turn. This is what the rebuild was always meant to be and the results are already showing. Very excited to see our future performances with the complete squad.

    Imma rate 10/10.

  3. At the very least 9.5/10. Truly phenomenal. We brought in real quality starters like Koop, Douglas Luiz, and DiGre, good younger players like Thuram and Conceicao, depth in Kalulu, and more. But I think the most impressive thing management did was gut the payroll and get rid of almost everybody on ridiculous wages and those Motta didn’t want. The only negatives is still having Arthur and not getting one of those CBs we wanted but otherwise fantastic and I’m excited for this season.

  4. 9/10

Our wages have gone down significantly, which I think was the main goal of this summer.

Great signings, great departures, cashed in quite a lot from our next gen (i even understand the soule sale, financially), got finally rid of plents of deadwood.

Only two big errors were made:
The first is Calafiori, we should have signed him immediately after the season. After the euros and arsenal jumping in, we couldn’t compete anymore.
The other one is the Chiesa sale. We don’t know what happened exactly, but 14m for our arguably most talented player (what we thought a year ago) is peanuts. We will look really stupid if he starts tearing up the Prem (big if)

  5. I don’t remember a summer like this summer, perhaps when we sold Zidane and got Buffon, Nedved and Thuram. That was 24 years ago. Time flies!

  6. It’s a great summer. Probably a 9 or a 9.5 out of 10. But personally i just really want to see chiesa under Motta instead of selling him for pennys on the dollar. Once he tested the water i think he will renew for a reasonable price. I think since we are gonna make Yildiz no10 anyway, Chiesa on LW, Yildiz on Cam and we buy a world class RW, get Todibo/Calafiori and get a Wingback. I think that gives a higher upside.

  7. 9/10.. In my opinion, we need a second striker for Vlahovic. I don’t know if Milik will play well after the injury..

  8. I never follow Nico in Fiorentina, but what I’ve seen from his highlight he’s actually a good aerial threat? Honestly didn’t expect that at all

  9. 8,5/10, I think we’ve got almost all needed reinforcements and the team is better than last season. Yet, we waited too long and lost Calafiori and we don’t have a real backup striker for Vlaho (I kinda feel sorry we didn’t get Morata back). Still, he and Milik, plus the offensive midfielders like Mbangula and Yildiz, should be enough, and we can always try and sign somebody in January. Too bad we couldn’t offload Arthur, but you can’t have it all.

  10. 910.
We got great addition to the team but we paid too much for some: almost 60millions for Koopmainers and he arrived so late. We paid too much for Gonzalez too: don’t get me wrong I think he can do really good but we shouldn’t pay so much for players which belong to our opponents. We also got so many problems with the CB: I don’t mind if we lost the Calafiori race against Arsenal, it’s fair, but the way we managed Todibo was horrible, we deserved to lose him and get Kalulu instead which could be good but we don’t know yet.
We sold almost every useless player we had to remove from the team but I whish we could have got more for Soule and maybe for Chiesa. However the greatest trade was Barrenechea and Iling Junior for Luiz: that was really smart.
All this would add up to a 810 score but it’s a 9 because of Thiago Motta. I consider him the greatest purchase of this summer and I was hoping to have him on the bench since when he was PSG youngster’s coach. I’m soooo excited for this season!

  11. Incoming transfers 10/10

Outgoing transfers 5/10 – We still have Arthur and we got rid of Chiesa 😭

  12. A Question: Do Motta still consider Milik and Kostic a part of the project?

  13. it depends from season really. if we are serie a contenders with good CL run, then 10/10. if we are again top4 with average CL run, it’s 7/10. It’s too much changes for average season again, to be rated better than 7. But given positive atmosphere around club, and confidence they showed, it should be good.

  14. 9.6/10. Obviously very very happy where the club is heading now. Clear vision, clear future, all that shady shit behind us.

  15. 8.5/10 we reduced the age of the squad, got rid of some dead wood. I feel we are a bit short in the strikers department (hopefully no injuries there). Me personally…I would have liked to have seen a few more Italian players bought but I realise that those days are gone where half the team is made up of Italian’s.

  16. Well, we lost Chiesa who was our best player. I refuse to believe we couldn’t have made him work. And Rabiot, who was also one of our best players. Tek is better than DeGregorio but at the literal end of his career (forced by us). Not like DeGregorio is this super sought after player albeit I’m very happy and excited for hopefully over a decade with him.

Overall, id give it a 7.5/10. Without Koop, id barely give it a 7.

This ratings is for players. Motta could make us play 10x better (which is achievable given how we were under Max) and I would keep the same rating.

  17. I think most of the facts have already been mentioned in other comments so I don’t wanna repeat them too much but I just want to quickly go over everything: we improved the player quality immensely, we reduced the overall age, we reduced the age bill, we got rid of so much deadweight and we actually got players that the manager wanted.

And most importantly of all – we finally broke away from our outdated model that we’ve been following for years now. For the first time in 5 years, we’re no longer just talking about “starting a new project’ or “rebuilding the squad” but never truly changing anything from our strategy on the market and as a team.

This is the first time that we actually started a new cycle – with new faces, hungry for trophies. With the removal of old players who should have left the team ages ago. With looking at other markets outside of Serie A for exciting young prospects.

Giuntoli didn’t just break the old model; he demolished it. He breathed new life into a club that was drifting around aimlessly. We’re finally building up to something new. There are no guarantees that anything you do will succeed but for the first time in ages I am actually excited to watch my team play. And I know we’ve started a long and difficult road to bring Juventus back to where we belong.

So for that, he gets an easy **10/10** from me. There’s more work to be done and more players to be shown the door. But this was the best summer we could have ever hoped for.

I’ll admit Giuntoli exceeded my wildest expectations for this transfer window. Bravo, Cristiano. Bravo!

  18. I’d say a 9. We got a great, talented new coach with revolutionary play style. Best 23/24 goalkeeper. Cabal is one of the best left backs (if not, the best) in terms of progressive passes, tackles and runs. Kalulu is being missed by Milan fans, which states that (if he doesn’t get injured) it’s a great second CF, specially with Bremer. Revamped MF with a creator like Douglas Luiz, a son of art like Thuram and the Cherry in top, Koopmeiners. Seeing a new Locatelli and recovering Fagioli also make me happy. With Conceição’s dribling and Nico’s touch, we are in for a great season!

It’s not a 10 since we were looking to sign Calafiori, but Arsenal, on an unprecedented move, beat us to a signing. Or Todibo, on which we may have been overconfident and forgot about the Hammers. Plus, not getting rid of Melo, Kostic and Djaló. Even though the 2 latter ones can come in handy.

  19. It’s a 10 sir.

For me seeing players leave and not bend a knee in front of Chiesa or Rabiot it’s the most important.

It’s time for Juve players to realize that this is a meritocracy, just showing up is not enough.

  20. 8/10 huge sums were spent that we wouldn’t normally spend for the same profile players and we had to sell more than double the number of players to make these happen.   They’re good players and should help us achieve higher objectives.
Would have liked another striker and a fullback.

  21. Wow 8 players in. How much did juve spent on them all? How much money from player out did juve get?

  22. 9.2 – my only real complaint is that I don’t think Di Gregorio is a Juve caliber keeper. I hope he proves me wrong, but he’s got incredibly big shoes to fill after 23 years of Gigi and Tek.

  23. 8/10, we didn’t get a vice-Vlahovic, a left-footed starting CB, and we didn’t get rid of Arthur Melo.

    Other than that, perfect.

  24. 9 just because we couldn’t get Arthur, Kostic and Djalo off our balls….

  25. Going with a solid 8. Still need Kostic and Arthur tho. How much did we trim off the wage bill?
