Not sure how reliable this is but just saw that Gazzetta is reporting that Giuntoli wants to renew Vlahovic at 10M a season until 2028. Curious to hear thoughts on this.

  1. Good idea to renew, but he doesn’t deserve that salary, not even close

  2. I am personally not a fan of Vlahovic. I think that the guy doesn’t have the qualities for a modern striker and doesn’t fit Motta’s system. If we weren’t willing to give Chiesa a raise then I can’t understand how we would be willing to pay 10M a year for Vlahovic.

    If you look at classic number 9s like Haaland and Lewandowski, they are able to justify having less ability on the ball because they are extremely clinical in front of goal. Vlahovic shows glimpses of finishing ability but is way to inconsistent. Other top number 9s need the ability to play the ball (like Harry Kane)

  3. Gazzetta needs to write something today to distract people from the shooting among the leaders of the inter ultras. These persons are alleged to be also leaders in organized crime groups, which makes sense to me.

  4. We’re a bit stuck with him, his contract runs until 2026, and we don’t want to let him leave on a Bosman at 26, that’s not smart business. He does have a market, the way Dybala and Chiesa didn’t.

    So we have to pick the lesser of two evils, extend his contract but we still have to give him a salary which makes sense for him to agree to. Already, he’d be essentially agreeing to a 2m pay-cut, which is not easy.

    I’m hoping we can offload him to the EPL, where there is more of a use for someone who is good in the air, and where you don’t necessarily need as good a first touch to be successful.

  7. Hopefully Vlahovic looks at what happened with Osihmen and agrees to more favorable terms for Juventus. As well as Rabiot who still doesn’t have a team and will almost certainly be taking less money than was offered by us.

    The grass isn’t always greener Dusan, especially for an inconsistent 9.

  10. I think the idea is to drop his salary with renewal, and if he doesn’t agree to it they will tell him to find new club next season

  11. I would sell him but I doubt there would be anyone buying… so… I’d renew him for 5m at most. Do you remember how much we payed for this guy? And how much he earned already through salleries?

    Yet he is still “settling” in… Can’t shoot with his weaker foot, can’t score with his head if it would save his mothers life… He just exists there to be angry at himself after he misses. It’s like he is still surprised everytime it happens 😂

  12. market for no9 is as bad as ever. vlahovic looked like a little bit worse haaland, but really he isn’t close. he shows class now and then but it’s still long way for him to be calliber for CL level for example.

    that being said, he doesn’t deserve that contract and like chiesa, he doesn’t bring anything special consistenly. the main problem is bad market for his position.

    ffs, after trezeguet, the only world class striker we had was higuain

    Let the management and Motta do their thing.
