Zinedine Zidane is always in my heart, and CR7 is always the flagship bearer that every single superstars coming to Madrid will be measured against. But if we are talking about “IN PRIME” then it’s Ronaldo Nazario all the way. The best of him made Maldini, Cannavaro, and even Nesta sweat, and Nesta handled Messi like a boss. If we can have that best of Ronaldo Nazario, in this era? where defenders didn’t just hack people’s legs off… damn that would be an amazing time to be alive
We all need Sergio Ramos so badly like all other positions are doing just fine.
I think at this moment, we can use the magic that prime ramos used to bring to this team, especially in our defense

Not based on individual merit, but what the current squad needs and lacks, my pick would be Marcelo. Tchouameni could focus on defensive duties and free up Marcelo for progressive input and link-up play from the wings. That surely would synergize nicely with our left-leaning attack. Kroos is a close second.
Regarding Bale: I’d wager the guy never had a real prime. He improved at lot technically and tactically after his first season in Madrid, but had already started to lose or scale back his insane athleticism due to injuries by then. Would have been a sight to behold if those two peaks coincided.
If the question pertains to peak performance, however short or inconsistent, the answer is Ronaldo Nazario. By far the most gifted player to ever set foot on the field. But that player never played in Madrid.
