Russia forces continue advance in Ukraine, thousands evacuated from Pokrovsk • FRANCE 24 English

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky is preparing his visit to Washington where he will make a fresh appeal to use long-range missiles on targets inside Russia. It has been a red line for Kyiv’s allies who fear the move would escalate the war. On the ground, the Russian army is said to be around 10 kilometers away from the eastern logistics hub of Pokrovsk, where their advances have triggered mass evacuations. Report by FRANCE 24’s correspondent in Pokrovsk, Catherine Norris Trent.

  3. Why not talk rather started a war in Russia. What has this achieved . More people died. Another Netanyahu in Europe and yet cause far more deaths for what?? Peace Talk now and let people live.

  8. When will Zelensky stop begging? Tanks, himars, atacms, f16 etc. All these game changers indeed changed the course of the confict but not in Ukraines favor. Now Zelensky is asking for long range missile. What next- of course he wont shy away from asking nuclear weapons too. How long will this madness continue? Durring the innitial conflict I had my respect for Zelensky, however as the war prolonged, he has been very inconsistant on many of his statements. He is just a pawn used by the western masters. I feel sorry for the Ukranians who have to suffer the folly of thier president.
    Wake up Ukraine. Whether you like it or not, Russia would always be your neighbour. Its always prudent to have honorable settlement through dialogue.

  12. I saw a video where supposedly the guy was sitting in a traffic jam that was driving TOWARDS the Pokrovsk. He was claiming that people were running away from Ukraine that way.

  21. The largest consumers in the Orient and in the Middle East have a global presence that the fabrication of the products is connected to the Chinese technology. The technological enterprises of the past year have the confidence of the consumers in the world inside the house of the tels that the children and the Physical and moral security for clients, tandis that the chain is the most beneficial for massive consumer migration. What kind of enterprises are there with their actual events?
    These industrial societies do not have access to the confiance of their internal consumers.

  22. I feel sorry for these reporters. In order to keep their jobs, they have to try and report the events in a manner that does not give the impression that Ukraine and its backers are not winning this war.
    They have to tread carefully between what constitutes the truth and what does not without offending the Western establishments that pay them.
    I don't envy them.

  28. It would be enough to agree that Ukraine will be neutral and converted to kind of federation to grant cultural freedom do minorities and about milion people (total from both sides) would enjoy beauty of life. These billions spend for war machine would make life of its citizens marvellous.

  31. Maybe now they need to withdraw from Kursk and use those troops to defend Pokrovsk. Ukraine made a point with the Kursk venture but perhaps its time is now up.

  34. In the midst of the Ukraine war, everyone is losing badly and Zelensky talks about a victory plan. Zelensky is even lying to his own people just to stay in power because he has sold his people and himself to countries like America and the UK. If the war does not stop, he will destroy the infrastructure built in Ukraine and 32 NATO countries together cannot defeat Russia.

  35. So then the total $500 billion military package from the West is a waste so far: always only Russia makes progress everyday. And with this rythme, Ukraine might disappear on the map.
    This non-sensical war needs to stop.

  36. Well, if it's in Donbass, it's Russian territory, isn't it? Donbass declared independence from Ukraine back in 2014, i believe..
