Rockets over Israel on anniversary | Strikes on Hezbollah escalate | Ukrainian hackers target Russia
▷ Ceremonies have been held across Israel to mark last year’s unprecedented assault when Hamas killed 1200 people and took more than 240 others hostage. World leaders marked the day with more calls for a ceasefire as Israel conducted a wave of air strikes in Lebanon and Gaza. The IDF saying the head of Hezbollah’s logistics unit was killed during the latest attacks.
▷ IDF strikes have hit the Lebanese capital Beirut, Baalbek in the east, and towns in the country’s south, including near the Israeli border.
▷ Ukrainian hackers have marked Russian President Vladimir Putin’s birthday with a large-scale attack on a Russian state TV network. On the frontline, Russia claimed the capture of Hrodivka as Ukraine’s President declared the war was now in “a very important phase”.
