Scott Ritter is a former Marine intelligence officer who served in the former Soviet Union, implementing arms control agreements, and on the staff of General Norman Schwartzkopf during the Gulf War, where he played a critical role in the hunt for Iraqi SCUD missiles. From 1991 until 1998, Mr. Ritter served as a Chief Inspector for the United Nations in Iraq, leading the search for Iraq’s proscribed weapons of mass destruction. Mr. Ritter was a vocal critic of the American decision to go to war with Iraq. His new book, Disarmament in the Time of Perestroika: Arms Control and the End of the Soviet Union, is his ninth.

  1. What will change for ordinary people in Ukraine or Russia after the war even if they win? Poor will continue to be poor and deprived of even the opportunity to travel to those areas they die for right now. Modern slaves are sacrificing their lives for modern slave owners.

    Украинцы к определению "титульная нация" – в "лучших” традициях гитлеровских Нюрнбергских расовых законов – добавили себе новое: "первосортная".

    б) В случае пoбеды России у "коллективного Запада" не менее коварный сценарий те. превращение территории Украины в "чемодан без ручки" а точнее в Афганистан 2.0 ("forever war"), а её население в "укроталибан". Даже после полного освобождения Украины от нацизма придётся нам жить с социумом, где в каждой семье есть погибшие в этой братоубийственной войне.

    Кто может нам гарантировать, что после победной СВО та же ситуативно “дружеская“ по отношению к России, демилитаризованная, денацифизированная, ”внеблоковская”, в менее или более обрезаном теpриториальном виде – независимая Украина c вpeменем не пойдёт по геополитическим тропам ещё не так давно "безoбидной", "нейтральной" Финляндии?

    С этими прoблeмами придётся разбираться не только нашим детям и внукам но и правнукам.

    2 Мая 2014 в Одессе была пройдена точка невозврата. Украинцы превратились из националистов в нацистов под аплодисменты майданных СМИ и при полном молчании Западных правозащитников. С реакцией России в Европе уже никто не считался.

    Нам всем начиная с верховных государственныx властей, военноначальникoв, дипломатoв, работникoв науки, культуры и искусства, бизнесменoв и олигархoв, кончая на так называемых ЛОМ-аx надо обязательно провести работу над ошибками и тщательное исследование совести.

    Наши западные "партнёры" и наши внутренние враги наконец-то сбросили маски и мы все уже знайем "Хуйз ху".

    Независимо от планов обитателей заброшенного, заросшeго сорняками западноевропейского сада и их циничных заокеанских садоводов нам остаётся сплочение рядов и сопротивление.

    Мы можем полагаться лишь на самих себя.

As for these war mongers…they piss me off…1st thing I thought of this morning was this world we live in and how no matter how many good people asking for peace, the powers and decision makers do not hear us. Kris Kristofferson just passed away this Fall, few weeks ago actually and his music cried for peace…the man went through life trying to understand all the reasons and agony of war, he died knowing nothing has changed. We come, we go, and the human race is still our worst enemy.

  31. Here’s a comment I’ve not heard anyone say regarding the survivability of Ukraine. The ONLY country fighting for Ukraine’s continued existence is Russia.

    The collective west continues to push Ukraine to take more aggressively measures forcing Russia to take more land to secure its borders. The west doesn’t care if Ukraine exists in the future. Would not be surprised if Romania, Hungary and Poland move their troops into western Ukraine, increase their lands, in order to protect their citizens living in Ukraine. Bye-bye Ukraine.

    Russia does not want all this land. It’s the largest country on the earth. Russia does not need more land. Just stable and predictable neighbors who are NOT trying to break Russia apart.

I had an argument with a good friend who said Russia was not winning because it was not taking huge territories , I argued that Russia's actions by not pushing QUICKLY forward meant that it was preserving its forces but getting the Ukrainian army to attempt forward counterattacks which was wasting the Ukrainian army. Its strategic goal of demilitarisation of the Ukrainian forces slowly taking place.

  35. I disagreed with Scott's opinions during "Phase Two". That said, I thought it unfair that Scott's critics dogpiled him. I give credit where credit is due…Scott changed his evaluations when Russia adapted to NATO/US/Ukraine May-September 2022 Counter moves.
