Israel retaliate after drone strike on Netanyahu’s house | LBC

Any expectation that the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar would precipitate a ceasefire have ‘evaporated’ in recent days, with the conflict in the Middle East rumbling on.

Matthew Wright speaks to international affairs expert Owen Bennett Jones, who fears the killing will continue for ‘another year at least’.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has described a Hezbollah drone attack on his house as an ‘assassination attempt’ and a ‘grave mistake’. Though no casualties resulted from the attack, dozens are reported dead in ensuing strikes on refugee camps in Gaza.

Netanyahu insists the drone attack “will not deter me or the State of Israel from continuing our just war against our enemies in order to secure our future.”

“I say to Iran and its proxies in its axis of evil: Anyone who tries to harm Israel’s citizens will pay a heavy price. We will continue to eliminate the terrorists and those who dispatch them.”

“We will bring our hostages home from Gaza. And we will return our citizens who live on our Northern border safely to their homes.”

  17. The issue is that Israel 🇮🇱 with a population of 7 million now has 2 million Palestinians in Gaza and 3 million Palestinians in occupied West Bank that it won’t give Israeli citizenship to and just want to ethnically cleanse to neighboring states

  32. To the Middle East Netanyahu, is their Bin Laden or far worse.

    The man who said in 2001 "We have to give Palestinians pain", he said that six years before Hamas.

    In 2019 he told his Likud party "we have to fund Hamas, with them in power we never have to offer them a state". This was reported in an Israeli newspaper. And he did, through Qatar.

    Also in 2019 the Palestinians attempted a peaceful protest in Gaza, he had the IDF shoot them.

    This man has no limits. He is the Butcher of Gaza. The kind of man who, if on the other side, would have run a concentration camp in the 1940s.
