Tele2 Latvia has increased the capacity of the 4G network by 30% in the last two years. The development of the network continues actively and, in fact, every day a new 5G base station is installed in different places in Latvia and one 4G base station is modernized.


The company continues the modernization of its network to increase the capacity of the mobile network. During the modernization works, there may be disturbances in the operation of the network in the coming days in the vicinity of Bauskas county, Ceraukstes parish; Talsi district, in the vicinity of Gundaga parish; Alūksne, in the vicinity of Helena Street; Valmiera region, in the vicinity of Vaidava parish; in Jelgava, in the vicinity of Uzvaras Street; In Adaži, in the vicinity of Krastupes Street; In Riga, in the vicinity of Jugla krastmalas street; Cēsi county, in the vicinity of Skujene parish, in Augšdaugava county, in the vicinity of Demene parish; Tukuma district, in the vicinity of Jelgava street; Smiltene district, in the vicinity of Variņu parish; Valka county, in the vicinity of Valka parish; Ventspils region, in the vicinity of Vārve parish; Jelgava region, in the vicinity of Valgunda parish; In Jurmala, in the vicinity of Slokas Street; Ropaži county, in the vicinity of Stopiņi parish; In Salacgrīva, in the vicinity of Rīgas Street.


Tele2 has allocated 20 million euros for the development of its mobile communication network this year. Investments are directed to network modernization and deployment of 5G technology, as well as maintenance of network capacity and construction of new data core network infrastructure. They are upgrading one 4G base station and installing one new 5G base station every day this year.
