Culture Minister of Belarus presents letter of gratitude to Kyrgyz artist for handing over historical paiting to museum of Belarus

AKIPRESS.COM – Minister of Culture of Belarus Anatoly Markevich and Director General of the National Art Museum of Belarus Anna Kononova have presented a letter of gratitude to the people’s artist, honorary worker of art of Kyrgyzstan Taalaibek Usubaliyev, the press service of the Ministry of Culture of Kyrgyzstan reports.

The ceremony was held as part of the Days of Culture of Kyrgyzstan in Belarus.

The gratitude letter was presented in recognition for the transfer of the painting “Toktogon Altybasarova: how a 16-year-old girl became the mother of 150 children”, which was written in 2020, to the collection of the National Art Museum of Belarus.

The painting depicts the historical moment, when the Kyrgyz social activist Toktogon Altybasarova sheltered the children evacuated from Leningrad during the World War 2.

The Days of Culture of Kyrgyzstan in Belarus were held on October 24-27 in the city of Minsk.
