Queen Mary of Denmark couldn’t hold back her laughter as she met with hospital clowns during a solo visit to the town of Middelfart.
The royal, 52, arrived at the event with a huge smile on her face as she was handed a bouquet of flowers.
She grinned while meeting with Danish Hospital Clowns – an organisation that works to lighten the days of children who are receiving medical treatment.
Those who are part of the movement are professionals who have to undergo special training which can take up to a year-and-a-half to complete.
Mary was greeted by workers who were dressed in colourful ensembles with balloon headwear and round clown noses.
The beaming monarch appeared unfazed following the one-year anniversary of her husband King Frederik’s rumoured ‘affair’ scandal.

She completed the look with sheer tights, simple black heels and a pair of gold pendant earrings.
Those who take part in the Danish Hospital Clowns training programme are taught about relationship building and neuropsychology along with how to better understand the needs of hospitalised children.
The team is built up of around 61 hospital clown members and they visit more than 30,000 children who are admitted to Denmark every year.
The clowns have also worked at several of the country’s child and adolescent psychiatric departments.

Mary also met with some of the children and youths who got to meet the clowns while in hospital, along with giving a talk about the organisation onstage at the conference.
Yesterday, she attended the Hubertus Hunt in Dyrehaven with her daughter, Princess Josephine, 13.
The Hubertus Hunt is an annual cross-country horse race held on the first Sunday of November in Deer Park in Klampenborg, north of Copenhagen.
Dating back to the 1900s, the event marks the end of the Danish hunting season, with 160 hunters on horseback riding over hedges and water features across the park, tackling a 13km route. It attracts some 40,000 spectators.
Josephine and Mary’s appearance comes as the pair jetted back from Australia on the weekend after a surprise visit to the Queen’s homeland.
It is understood she flew home to Hobart last week to attend her niece’s wedding before travelling to Sydney, where she soaked up the sun at some of the city’s most picturesque beaches.

After spending almost a week in her home country, Mary was seen jetting out of Australia with her 13-year-old twins Josephine and Vincent.
Mary last visited Australia in December with her twins to spend Christmas with her family.
Her return to Australia comes 12 months after rumours exploded about her husband King Frederik, 56, having an affair with Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova, which have been strenuously denied.
Frederik did not join his wife on her trip to Australia, choosing to stay in Denmark on official business.
However, his decision to stay home has raised the eyebrows of Danish royal fans who have closely watched the couple since the alleged ‘affair’ scandal rocked their relationship.
Cracks began to appear in the pair’s fairytale romance after the then-Crown Prince was photographed on a night out with Ms Casanova in Madrid last October.
Ms Casanova strongly denied any affair with Frederik immediately after pictures of the pair together emerged and has refused to speak on the matter since.
Weeks after the pictures of the now King and Ms Casanova were published, Mary was spotted on another holiday in Sydney without Frederik.
