The Moldovan broadcaster has confirmed its participation in the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest. The official website for Moldova in the contest, Eurovision.md has been updated with a link to apply to represent Moldova at Eurovision 2025. The form is currently not active but is expected to be launched shortly.
Following the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 there had been public debate regarding whether participation in the contest was cost-effective for the Moldovan broadcaster.
Teleradio-Moldova has one of the smallest broadcasters competing in the Eurovision Song Contest, having a budget of 139.4 million Moldovan Leu (7.3 million Euro) in 2019.
Natalia Barbu performed “In The Middle” in Semi-Final One of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. Moldova placed 13th in the Semi-Final scoring 20 points.

Moldova debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 when the contest was held in Kyiv, Ukraine. That year, Bulgaria also debuted in the contest and Hungary returned after a long absence since 1998. Moldova’s best result in the contest to date was 3rd place in 2017 for Sunstroke Project with “Hey Mamma!”. This was the second time the group had represented their country in Eurovision.
