Though counting is yet to be completed, the ruling alliance sits poised to return to power with a considerable mandate. Meanwhile, in Jharkhand… the BJP-led NDA is not seeing such luck. While the BJP mounted an aggressive campaign alleging that “infiltrators” were changing the state’s demographics and usurping land and jobs, the Scheduled Tribe-reserved seats appeared to be staying with the INDIA bloc. The BJP’s gambit of wooing JMM No.2 and senior tribal leader Champai Soren to its side seems to have not worked.
