Slovenia’s parliament rejected Anton Rop as the country’s new central-bank chief after the government declared its support for another candidate.
In a secret ballot Friday, the 63-year-old Rop, a former prime minister and finance minister, fell well short of the 46 votes needed to push aside current Governor Bostjan Vasle, who’s still in the running for a second six-year term.
