France celebrates uncorking Beaujolais nouveau • FRANCE 24 English

As per tradition, the French wine Beaujolais nouveau is uncorked on the third week of November every year, with restaurants in France and across the world throwing parties for its uncorking. The young and fruity wine, which is made from Gamay grape in the Lyon region, is produced at the end of the grape harvest in just 6 to 8 weeks. Liza Kaminov has the story.

  1. Thanks for this video!! It brought back memories of their 1985 Nov release.. I was living in the Dallas metro area and my work colleague and friend was an oenophile. He tipped me off about a big Dallas Wine distributing company sponsering a Beaujolais nouveau tasting event that had bought lots and lots of bottles and flew them to DFW ASAP and we all were part of the uncorking when the plane's goodies were brought to up to the airport hotel suite.

Absolutely DELICIOUS – fruity and bright and just so drinkable and YUMMY!! Never had vino like that before or since.

Cheers all! Enjoy a bottle or two for me 🙂
