It's really interesting – you can see the first work on the transmitter at Divis and (Gah!) removal of Belfast's tramlines. The demolition company is Eastwood, who I believe are still going today – if it's the same firm.
I must say there's definitely a feel of "a view of our colony" about this programme, which I am sure will animate some on this sub…
Be that as it may, the historical footage is just fascinating IMO.
There's also a programme from 1957 about Rathlin in the same iPlayer collection, which is really a great piece of TV.
