December 2, 2024 – Olympic Moments: TCN’s photojournalist Slobodan Kadic officially opened a permanent exhibition of photographs of Croatian tourist destinations and the sporting successes of Croatian athletes at the Opatija Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management of the University of Rijeka.
Around forty photographs on the topics of tourism and sports now adorn the halls of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management in Ika (Opatija) and in the Zabok Study Center. The authors of the photographs are experienced photojournalists Slobodan Kadic and Jan Serdar from Zagreb.
“The sporting successes of Croatian athletes significantly contribute to the promotion of tourism, while photographs of tourist destinations encourage visitors to explore the known and lesser-known beauties of Croatia”, said Marko Perić, Dean of the Faculty, emphasizing that they have had excellent cooperation with the two photographers.
Slobodan Kadić is a photojournalist for TCN, an excellent photographer who does primarily sports photography, and a regular guest at major world sports competitions, from the Olympics to the World Cup and Champions League matches.
“Photography is a great love, there is some sort of atomic energy that makes you want to take more and more photos, and you are never satisfied because you can always do more and better! It is a privilege to photograph major world competitions and be alongside the most famous world photographers”, says Kadić, not forgetting to mention his colleague Jan Serdar, who exhibited beautiful photographs of the beautiful Croatian tourist destinations.
Some of the guests at the ceremony included Nikolina Jakopić, Head of the Sector for the Development of Tourist Destinations, and Ivana Janušić, Head of the Department for the Use of Funds of the Tourism Fund, while on behalf of the Croatian Olympic Committee, Vlado Šola was there, now an expert associate for local sports programs and former national handball goalkeeper, who addressed the audience. The project is sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Croatian Olympic Committee, Zagrebačka Banka and the Croatian Tourist Board.
“With this project, the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management has confirmed that the beauty of tourist destinations and sporting successes are extremely important in attracting tourists to Croatia”, concluded Elena Rudan, Vice-Dean for Business Relations at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management.
