Hi all
I'm a Northern Irish woman, doing my PhD at University of Manchester. My project is looking at how Northern Irish women experience unwanted behaviour from men in everyday life.
I'm looking Northern Irish women aged 18+ to take part in my survey – https://www.qualtrics.manchester.ac.uk/jfe/form/SV_bwwct6rSf8k4Kwe?Q_CHL=social&Q_SocialSource=reddit
I'm also looking Northern Irish women born either between 1990-2000 or 1960-1970 to take part in an interview to share your experiences of this sort of behaviour. Interviews can be over Zoom or face-to-face (I'm back home lots anyway). If you want to be interviewed please email kim.mcfalone@postgrad.manchester.ac.uk
This is an important topic, especially at the moment with the femicide rates so your contribution will help raise awareness of the realities of living as a woman in Northern Ireland.
Follow me on Instagram, X and TikTok too for more awareness raising – same username as this account.

Completed, good luck with your project!
Done. I would be interested in seeing your results
Completed, I really hope you’ll come back and share your findings. Just a few notes when I was working through it (based only on my personal experiences):
1. Since getting a car, my exposure to inappropriate behaviour on public transport is a lot less. It would have been a good idea to consider this.
2. Since moving from retail/hospitality to corporate office work, inappropriate/sexual behaviour is much less. Working in retail/hospitality I’ve been outright assaulted by both the public and colleagues, something that I’ve got more rights to fight back against in a corporate environment. Inappropriate behaviour still occurs, just less often and less severe.
3. As I’ve got older, I’m out in bars/clubs less than I would have been in my 20s, again lessening my exposure to vulnerable situations, groping etc.
Just some thoughts that occurred to me when answering your questions.
Do participants have to be from the jurisdiction, or can they be from elsewhere but live within the jurisdiction?
Very good research topic, I will share it among people I know 🙂
