MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The American Red Cross Wisconsin Region will host its 39th annual Madison Holiday Blood Drive at the Alliant Energy Center from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
The drive will be held in the center’s Exhibition Hall and is Wisconsin’s largest one-day blood drive, according to the Red Cross.
Donors will receive an exclusive Red Cross long-sleeve shirt and refreshments.
The Red Cross highlights that the need for blood is constant, but the supply is not, especially during the busy holiday season.
“A person needs lifesaving blood every two seconds in our country, and its availability can be the difference between life and death,” said Kyle Kriegl, executive director of the Southwest Wisconsin Chapter of the Red Cross. “We encourage everyone to roll up a sleeve at the 39th Annual Madison Holiday Blood Drive and donate to help ensure patients receive the life-saving blood they need.”
Sign up for a slot at RedCrossBlood.org, by calling 1-800-733-2767 or by downloading the American Red Cross Blood Donor app. Walk-ins are also welcome. Be sure to bring a blood donor card, driver’s license, or two other forms of identification to check in.
