Apparently, for Fico, cooperation with the Kremlin is more important than with the European Commission.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that he had offered Slovakia compensation for the losses incurred due to the cessation of Russian gas transit. However, Prime Minister Robert Fico refused.

This was stated by the Head of State, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He points out that Ukrainians are fighting for their lives, while Fico is fighting for money, and it’s unlikely that the money is for Slovakia. Shadow agreements with Putin are either a trade of national interests or working for personal gain.

“We offered him (Fico) a solution regarding potential compensation for the Slovaks, including for the losses from Russian gas transit, as well as alternatives for transit – any other gas, not Russian, as required by the European Commission. We were ready to do this. Fico did not want compensation for the Slovaks. And he does not want to cooperate with the European Commission. For some reason, Moscow is more beneficial to him,” the Ukrainian leader stated.

“Everyone in Europe understands why. There is no one who doesn’t understand,” the leader emphasized.
