  1. Apprehended November and December 2023. James Cleverly was Home Secretary then.

  2. Headline is disingenuous. The only reason the home office asked for the private prosecution to be halted was because they were trying to deport him and feared the prosecution would interfere with it. Not that they just didn’t want him prosecuted, as the headline makes it sound.

  3. > However, the Home Office asked TM Eye’s lawyers to drop their prosecution because it said the outstanding criminal proceedings were preventing officials from deporting him as a failed asylum seeker and illegal migrant.

There you go, saved you a click and your blood pressure.

Can we just fucking ban the Telegraph as a source? It’s an utter shit rag that prints nothing but disingenuous rage bait.

  4. Typical Torygraph misleading clickbait headline designed to rile up little Englanders.

This is shit stirring level fuckery from the Telegraph who have decided to post a picture of a toothless illegal Romanian immigrant shoplifter, and wants us to believe the the Labour government is in some way complicit in trying to prevent him from being charged.

Anyone who reads the article will see that in fact the home Office have been forced to charge him, because the Belgravia and Mayfair private police force setup to protect the very rich – decided it was more important to prosecute him than it was to deport him.

    TLDR:

    >However, the Home Office asked TM Eye’s lawyers to drop their prosecution because it said the outstanding criminal proceedings were [preventing officials from deporting](https://archive.is/o/f349H/https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/12/21/romanian-jailed-violent-robbery-cant-deported-under-echr/) him as a failed [asylum seeker](https://archive.is/o/f349H/https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/12/09/britain-syria-suspend-asylum-tories-germany-austria-sweden/) and illegal migrant.
