Out of the three international indoor games played at the Rohrmax Cup in Vienna, Austria on Friday, USA Field Hockey saw an upset, a victory, and a loss.

 

The premier international event features a handful of FIH-ranked teams. The women are using the games to prepare for the FIH Indoor World Cup, set to take place in Pore, Croatia from February 3 to 5.

 

The men aren’t playing in the World Cup. The No. 10 team, however, outperformed No. 3 Belgium in what the organization is calling “explosive offensive effort.” The women started the day defeating Croatia 4-2, and then they narrowly dropped their second contest 7-6 to Belgium.

 

The Rohrmax Cup runs from Jan. 2 to 5.

The men resume action at 10:10a.m. EST Saturday, Jan. 4 against Austria U-21.
