Rory Gallagher statue a ‘fitting tribute’ to ‘celebrate’ memory

3. Not bad as statues go (anyone see the one of Elizabeth and Philip at Antrim castle gardens?! 🤦‍♂️), but seriously, why not his strat?!

8. It’s great to see but the likeness is a bit suspect. Anything is better than that yoke of a statue in Cork.

9. Heard through the wire that they originally wanted a van morrison statue but the artist said he couldn’t source enough raw material

10. That’s pretty cool that it’s causing intrigue, and getting people talking.

    I’m not aware of anybody more deserving of a place there at The Ulster Hall.

    I hasten to add I am a big fan of Moore, Morrison, Bell and others. Gave money to the Moore statue fund twice.

11. This unveiling was a fucking disgrace.
    Couldn’t hear a single word from the speakers (go 2 mins a round the corner and the evangelists are booming it out).
    Also unveiled 15 minutes earlier than publicised so loads of people missed it.
    Really didn’t do Belfast or Rory justice, fuckin amateurs.
