In honor of Kate’s birthday, here’s a flashback to her first post-wedding tiara appearance. She’s wearing a red Jenny Packham gown and the lotus flower tiara. At the end I included a pic from a later event (which is why she’s wearing a different tiara) where she re-wore the gown, so we can better see the details

Kate is lovely. I like the true red on her. These days she’s always in jewel tones.
I really love the diamond Chandelier earrings she’s wearing here, I wish she wore them more.
I didn’t realize this was the first tiara appearance after the wedding! It can’t be that long ago, only about ten years. She didn’t start attending banquets immediately after the wedding?
I remember it was an autumn and my daughters got excited about the lotus flower tiara, so I had to draw it in detail for each of them and using the drawings, they made headbands embroidered with glass beads. Both headbands ended up looking very different, but pretty and they wore it for one Christmas event. It was a fun family project. I love seeing this, it brings back memories.
