Tehran: Iran has shown a glimpse of its military strength to the world via a video released by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Friday, January 10.
The video shows the country’s underground missile and drone complex. The IRGC also claims to have created a new, special missile. IRGC commander Maj. Gen. Hossein Salami and Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh have visited the missile and drone stockpile warehouse. Through this video, Iran is trying to show its strength in the region. Iran has had heightened tensions with Israel and the United States for some time.
In this video released by Iran, IRGC commander Major General Hossein Salami and Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh are seen visiting the underground missile facility. Iranian media outlet Mehr News has said that in October and April last year, Iran conducted operations against Israel from this underground missile base.
Iran is working on a new missile
Speaking at an event in the south-western Iranian city of Abadan on Friday, General Salami announced that his country’s Aerospace Forces was developing “new specialised missiles”, reports CNN. Earlier on Monday, January 6, General Ali Mohammad Naini said Iran would hold new drills. The exercises will showcase ‘Missile and Drone City’. These include an underground city with a stockpile of missiles and a shipwreck in southern Iran.
