President-elect Donald Trump has invited members of the Royal Family to join him on Inauguration Day, but one royal expert said she’d be “shocked”if Prince William and Princess Kate were sitting front row

Daily Express US reached out to Brittani Barger, co-founder of Royal News, to ask her about the likelihood of this happening, the royals traveling form the UK to the US to watch Trump be sworn in, and she said, unlikely — and then some.

Barger said: “Trump may have invited them, but that doesn’t mean they will go.”

The royal expert explained that royals are invited to things all the time, but they are not obliged to accept, and by no means, is it considered an offence, it just comes with the territory.

She said: “Royals are invited to things all the time and decline invites. I’d be very shocked to see them at the inauguration, especially with how divisive the election was and how things still are between the left and MAGA.”

Barger doesn’t expect to see members of the British Royal Family on Inauguration Day, but royal watchers may be in for surprise.

Barger said: “I believe it’s quite possible the Crown Prince Couple of Serbia could attend.”

She added: “Of course, the Serbian monarchy was deposed decades ago, but they still maintain a presence in Serbia. They are known to be friends with the Trumps.”
