The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), a Tehran-based humanitarian NGO, has offered help to the United States’ Red Cross to aid in dousing the raging inferno.
In a message to American Red Cross chief, Cliff Holtz, IRCS head Pirhossein Kolivand termed fire as a major tragedy and expressed grief over the loss of lives and property in the incident. Kolivand said the IRCS was ready to help the US in every possible manner in wake of this disaster.
“Widespread fires in Los Angeles, which has demolished houses, threatened lives, and turned the scenic landscape into ashes, has affected the whole world, particularly responsible and sympathetic people. Watching painful scenes and people suffering from smoking inhalation are more than television images for us, these are calls to action,” the IRCS chief said in his message to Holtz, according to Tehran Times.
‘You are not alone’
Kolivand assured the American Red Cross CEO “that you are not alone in these tough moments”, adding that the IRCS was ready to dispatch its quick response teams, rescue equipment, and personnel to the site. “We assure you that you are not alone in these tough moments.
