They don’t make them anymore do they? So it makes sense.
To be honest I can’t really see farmers wanting to buy the replacement, the appeal of the original is that it’s rough and ready and takes a beating.
Elon is going to have a hissy fit when they don’t pick the Cybertruck
Ineos Grenadier a potential candidate would be my guess at their replacement.
With that said, regardless given the debacle of the Snatch Land rover. Only vehicle I would feel safe in would be a tank
It’s rather pathetic if a British company, like Land Rover, is unable to win this tender.
They were always shit. Spent so many exercises digging them out!
And when they put the wrong size oil seal into the engine and the oil didn’t flow, so many soldiers got charged for not looking after the vehicle.
Defenders are way too long in the tooth at this point. The remainder belong in museums and with enthusiasts. I remember the controversy when they were shipped out to Afghan and Iraq as they were simply not fit for purpose. A friend said even in NI the spare tyre well on the bonnet used to catch protesters firebombs so you ended up driving around with essentially a fire pit in front of you.
I’m sure a better vehicle could be procured although this is the MoD so it’ll take years and overrun by billions.
Sensible cheap option would be to Hi Lux it up like farmers, irregulars and various questionable militias world wide lol
Time for the Tesla 4×4 🤣🤣🤣
