  21. TBH France always had some kind of division between the north of France and the south. The French in the south were more culturally close to the Spanish and Italian while the French in the north were closer to the German, English and Nordic countries.

    Also the law and usage in the south were ofc influenced by the Roman Empire. Most of these differences were erased in the past century by the French Republic
