  1. [Source](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_World%27s_Billionaires#Annual_rankings). Made with ThinkCell.

I put some countries into “others” because otherwise it would have been more cluttered than it already is.

Billionaires is meant in US dollars.

As follows (note that one person can appear on the Top 10 multiple times throughout the years):

    Country| Appearances
    —|—
    United States| 195.3
    Japan | 34
    Germany | 19
    India| 17
    Mexico | 17
    Canada | 15.3
    France | 15
    Spain | 13
    Sweden | 13
    Hong Kong | 12
    Saudi Arabia | 9
    South Korea | 6
    Taiwan | 5
    Brazil | 3
    Switzerland | 3
    South Africa | 1.3
    Russia | 1
    United Kingdom | 1

Forbes list does not, notoriously, include royalty, dictators, or in general people whose wealth is difficult to ascertain.

  2. I was looking at an old Forbes list from the 80’s, and it’s crazy how so many billionaires, probably very well known during those times, are completely forgotten today. Just makes me think that maybe people like Bezos, Warren Buffet will also be forgotten 20-30 years down the line.

  3. Who’s the 1/3 Canadian 1/3 American 1/3 other in recent years

  4. Musk getting counted as thirds really hurts the beauty in my books. I know that is the data given.

In his case he should probably be counted by his nationality at birth (south african) or his primary Nationality (US)

Counting as thirds, is saying a entity can be subdivided when in reality the entities have multiple attributes in the catagory being graphed.
