Insiders went on to say that Eugenie’s bond with her own family is part of the reason behind the move. The royal is known to have a close relationship with the Duke of York, Sarah Ferguson and Princess Beatrice, who herself has two young children. The source said, ‘Eugenie is adamant that she wants to head back to the UK on a more permanent basis and use the villa in Portugal as a holiday home.’
Meanwhile, Jack and Eugenie are thought to want their children to grow up in the British schooling system. The insider continued, ‘They [the family] are currently spending a lot of time in Portugal and as the boys get a bit older, they are looking for kindergartens near to their London home and eventually schools in the UK.’
Princess Eugenie herself is the co-founder of The Anti-Slavery Collective. While she is not a working royal, Princess Eugenie has, in recent months, appeared to take on a slightly more high-profile role amidst the absence of Kate Middleton.
Insiders speaking to MailOnline previously claimed Charles wants Eugenie and her sister Beatrice to help add some glamour to events across the summer period. Sources said, ‘The King is looking to bring in some fresh blood and he’s looking to Beatrice and Eugenie. He thinks that they’ve grown into very sensible, lovely women who he thinks could be a real asset.’
