This week, the first permanent traffic restrictions have been introduced in the construction zone, restricting traffic in the section of Ziepniekkalna Street from Kalētu Street to the border of the administrative territory of Rīga, and will remain until May 30.

Vehicle traffic is restricted in the section of Vienības Avenue from Ozolciema Street to Tīraines Street, as well as at the intersection of Vienības Avenue and Tīraines Street. These restrictions are planned to be in force until April 1 at the latest.

From Friday, January 24, until Saturday, May 31, vehicle traffic will also be restricted in the section of Valdeķu Street from the building at Valdeķu Street 61 to the building at Valdeķu Street 75 and in the section of Ozolciema Street from the building at Ozolciema Street 32 k-1 to Liesmas Street.

Also during this period, pedestrian traffic will be closed in Ozolciema Street before the intersection with Valdeķu Street and in the section of Valdeķu Street from the building at Valdeķu Street 65 to the intersection with Ozolciema Street.

The changes to the traffic organization for pedestrians and vehicles, as well as the possible driving routes in the vicinity of the construction zone, can be seen on the attached maps.

At the end of last year, the construction of the fourth phase of the Dienvidu Bridge started in Riga. The project will include the construction of Jāņa Čakstes Avenue and related infrastructure from Valdeķu Street to Ziepniekkalna Street and from Vienības Avenue to Valdeķu Street. The construction and reconstruction of engineering networks and landscaping works will also be carried out. The project will also improve the surrounding street network, ensuring easy traffic flow.

Project cost is €122,732,478.67 (incl. VAT 21%), of which €60,185,896.00 – Cohesion Fund co-financing, €62,546,582.67 – municipal funding.
