Ambulance waits: Man died of sepsis after 14-hour no-show

  1. Just had the same thing happen to my nan.

    She had sepsis. Ambulance took 27 hours. She was completely out of it and confused, crying in pain, couldn’t eat anything, couldn’t move.

    She very nearly died. The whole system is rotten to the core.

  2. The nurse from Morriston they interviewed on BBC put it perfectly, this is a flow issue.

    When you can’t discharge people from the ward it backs up to A&E, then out the door to the ambulances

    Until we figure out how to get the social care system up and running and able to accept patients medically fit for discharge there is nothing that will fix this.

    You can do what you want to stop a river flooding but at some point you have to address the blockage
