  2. Can we send him as a european president or something, just so he can make big speech about those things and quit making us French angry ?

    Also, the biggest problem is that a european army looks great on paper but most european countries have american equipement, building a unified industry will take time AND every big country will face suspicion like it wants to dominate those which will depend on it.

    Several countries have made that point quite clear with us, and Dassault already ; “Good stuff, but we won’t make you supply us and have the upper hand”.

    As long as we don’t create a more solid thing than what the EU is right now, I’m pessimistic.

  4. If there is a European army, the division of responsibility must be based entirely on national stereotypes. For example, Barry may have no role in the rations but can be in charge of the Navy, Hans is not allowed to be in charge of rail logistics but can be in charge of planning, Akseli can take the lead on winter operations and artillery but definitely isn’t responsible for morale.

  10. Macron wants a big beautiful bill to officiate a budget and decades long commitment, but ignores the “bottom up” organisation already happening. Why not join in with the NL-DE-+ joint ops, Pierre?

  13. I like the french as much as you guys, but i have to give it to them. The last couple of month they showed alot of courage! I dont like to say it, but other eu countrys should become a little more like france

  17. NATO without the US is an European army with the addition of Turkey, Canada and the UK.

  21. This is a thousand times more terrifying than Musks German mannerisms.

    The headless EU bureaucratic machine can’t be trusted with its own army.

    They’ll be starting wars due to paperwork errors and then be unable to stop it because nobody has the correct form to fill out.

  23. Ehh I’m all up for european army IF the ones who lead will treat every border and country as if it were their own.

    Currently people far away from russian border have less problem on giving some leeway and giving up some territories than for example Estonians are willing to.

    So whoever is in charge, has to treat every country as it were their own, can’t belive I’m saying this, but just like the US is doing. (not sure on hawaii part)

    That could work for a military as well
    But keep in mind more money for weapons is less on something else as useful, and that war is the worst solution, as long that there is other possible ones
