  1. I know theres a lot of horror stories about the nhs and I know its absolutely creaking under the pressure right now but its saved my life, my wifes, made possible both of my children being born and last night treated my son for a minor injury.

The Drs and nurses were clearly in pieces at the end of the day but they treated us and those around us with dignity and respect and helped so many people.

The NHS is a national treasure and deserves to be fought for.

  2. A year ago I sliced my leg open really badly.I was losing a lot of blood. I spent almost an hour on the phone begging the lady on the phone to get me an ambulance. They just didn’t have the capacity to get to me any quicker.Eventually got there. I was genuinely lucky.

I’m grateful but the NHS is completely overrun, it’s in a really bad way . Something has to be done. I’m not opposed to SOME privatisation.

It’s just not working in its current form.

Before people just say “well Tories” they DID pump money into it. It seems like a management issue not funding.

  3. It’s horrifying, not to mention that there is a freeze on recruitment. There are numerous newly qualified nurses trying to find jobs, and many trusts aren’t recruiting. Leaving them to bank or working as a HCA. This is affecting patient care and over working current staff. It’s bonkers!

  4. Why isn’t this being broadcast on news channels daily? This is an emergency, no?

  5. For all the racists here – if it wasn’t for immigrants (including naturalised Brits) the NHS would grind to a halt in less than a day, anyone who has been in a hospital recently will know this full well.

Immigrants use NHS less than Brits [https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7734958/](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7734958/)

Immigrants put more into the system (taxes) than they take out [https://www.davidsonmorris.com/immigrants-economic-contributions/](https://www.davidsonmorris.com/immigrants-economic-contributions/)

  6. I’m currently in a general ward coming from a high dependency ward in Manchester. There was better than a 1:1 staff to patient ratio in the resus ward and better than 2:3 in the general ward of 26 which is bigger than most. I’ve seen probably 7 or 8 doctors or consultants this morning so there doesn’t seem to me to be a staff shortage at least.

  7. Public Services are on their knees. GPs, A&E, the Police, social services… the list goes on. People are dying, getting hurt, and there’s nothing to be done, because we don’t have the money for it

  8. Things are clearly very bad in places, but some of this feels just like fear mongering. I was sent to A and E with my little one this week, we were in and out in two hours. Things aren’t hopeless.
