  1. I know I know, the Roman Empire, but to be honest as an Italian I think we are already different things, many years have passed.

Many times in these maps there is the roman empire for Italy, but for me there should be the united Italy instead

  2. france 1920? not when napoleon ruled continental europe?

  3. Being a tax haven while relying on its big neighbors for security seems to pay off.

    Potato Gypsies 🇮🇪🤝🇨🇭 Cheese Gypsies

  4. How did Bulgaria peak in 1920 right after they lost a world war 😭

  5. How is 1942 peak for Germany?

We literally had peaks of cultural, military and economic power in 1250, 1519, 1890 and 2005. How any sensible person could conclude that the peak was 1942 is baffling. 1942 Germany was literally a slavery based facist dictatorship with an overstretched military occupation, crippling lack of energy and ressources, a psychotic ruler and a collapsing economy.

  6. Ireland and Belarus are gonna create some Potatocorp to compete with A.I business

  7. Power is relative, and only tenuously linked to territory. For us it’d be like 1860ish, before the continentals decided to properly industrialise as well.

Spain surely in the 1500s under Charles V? And France under Napoleon? I might also controversially say Germany in 1914 was more powerful than in ‘42 because of its precarious position.

  8. Wouldn’t 1914 be more accurate for Germany? We were pretty OP back then

Maybe also some kind of earlier HRE state

  9. I don’t know it depends on how you measure power. While Sweden was certainly at its territorial peak in 1658 i think Swedens peak actually happened during Karl XI rule and sometime between 1680-1697. Sure he made the country an absolute monarchy but his reforms of the military and economy were essential. Karl XII would have been in deep shit if not for his fathers efforts.

  10. 1658 the year we fucked Poland harder than Hitler and Stalin combined then marched our army across the ice just to mess with the Danes.

  11. This smells like Moravian propaganda to me

Everyone else knows that Charles IV, king of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor, had a long and successful reign

  12. I’d say Norway is probably reaching a new peak too. The entirety of Europe is dependent on them for energy now and their sovereign wealth fund keeps growing.

  13. I think Ireland deserves way more hatred than it gets on this sub. I just can’t get myself to do it they seem cool

  14. 323 BC is the most bullshit thing you could say for Greece. Also Bulgaria just is wild

  15. The “now” is pretty savage given how irrelevant all of those countries are.

  16. Peak years for Italy should be around 1400. Not in term of power as it was divided in many countries but in terms of wealth. During the Renaissance Italy was filthy rich relatively speaking for the period
