  1. “Hello, actions. Allow me to introduce you to consequences.”

  2. Call in or write an email saying they’re sick. Simple. Done.

  3. “Social media influencer”. Today’s excuse of a get-out-of-jail card for people who think the law doesn’t apply to them.

  4. God I hate influencers.
“The first thing I did straight away was make a video. “

  5. I haven’t read the article but I can guess what it says, and I’m going to side with the mom here. I’m not a parent, but I don’t think a school or government should have executive say on this outside of abuse situations, and going on holiday is hardly abuse. Parents should, outside of abuse, always have the final say.

  6. oh no, my actions have consequences. Turns out if you BREAK THE LAW, you’ll get a criminal record.

  7. When I volunteered down at my city’s court chaplaincy service, the amount of people at Mags for booking term time holidays was astonishing.

  8. *”I took my kids to school, came back and read the letter. The first thing I did straight away was make a video. …………..*

*”What do you want me to do? Leave my kids at home while I go off on fancy holidays with my partner? No. I’m sure social services would be getting involved at that point……………*

First thing you do is make a video?

So there are only 2 options, take your kids on holiday or go without them…?

    Fuckwit

  9. Why don’t we just have a 2 tier school system?

One for parents that actually want their children to get an education and are willing to work with the school to make it happen, one for parents who want a glorified creche. Would save us all a lot of time and energy.

If we were talking about a family really struggling financially that can just about scrape up the funds for a one off holiday, I say have at it. Understandable to choose term time. This person has been able to spend £13k on two holidays. They could very easily afford a holiday during the school break, she is simply an entitled twat who doesn’t care about the impact of her kids routinely missing 2 weeks of school (and will probably blame the school when little Destiny and Sienna and Alfie or whatever her godawful offspring are called flunk their exams).

  10. And they’re doing it again going to Paris soon!

    What an attention seeker

  11. This particular case aside, the fact this is a crime is absurd and insane.

They missed two weeks of school. Wow, that’s certainly crippling. Oxford professors turned into bin men clearly (not to disparage or denigrate bin men, we’d be really fucked without them).

It was common place when I was a kid in the 90s and 2000s.

If consequences need to be in place to stop kids missing too much school, it should be based on a percentage, not a binary “any” or “none”.

The reality is that taking a holiday outside of term time is far too expensive.

  12. What a horrible attention seeker. Those poor kids probably only exist in her eyes as extras in her pathetic social media videos

  13. Everyone who takes their kids on holiday during term time faces a criminal record.

    From the government website
    >Fines per parent will be capped to two fines within any three-year period. Once this limit has been reached, other action like a parenting order or prosecution will be considered. If you’re prosecuted and attend court because your child hasn’t been attending school, you could get a fine of up to £2,500.

  14. If you read any of her stuff online she is as thick as mince. She has just spent the weekend in Paris vaping at the Eiffel Tower and moaning her kids are glued to screens. They literally give off packet, lambrini and matching Temu finest. She baits all the time… if it’s not ‘my Cora’s been told off for her nails’ it’s ’I am too thin after lying to get a gastric sleeve’ GAH……

  15. I can’t believe this is a crime. My dad used to take me skiing every year. I’d take two days off school and go for an extended weekend because it was quieter and cheaper to go than during holidays. He always cleared it with the school first though. They didn’t care. That was in Australia so I’m guessing the same rules don’t apply.

  16. This women is vile. I feel sorry for her kids. The oldest looks so embarrassed when her mother makes her do videos for her TikTok and the youngest boy, the amount if dancing videos and he’s pushed out of the camera view, so she can keep dancing is honestly disbursing.

@itsmebadmom is her handle. She also had a weight loss operation in Turkey and when she lost far too much weight, she just complains about being too skinny. 31 and this is the level of parenting in the Uk.

  17. Awful woman thinks she’s important because she makes a few videos. The kids don’t need holidays to Disney or whatever, it’s certainly not a right. “What do you want me to do?” – go in school holidays, get permission, or do without are all options. I hope she ends up with a punishment that actually hurts, but I doubt she’ll learn anything.

  18. My attendance in year 6 was 60%. Giving out a criminal record would have mad a shit life shittier

  19. If only every school has its breaks at different times- problem solved!

  20. I too am furious when faced with the consequences of my own actions

  21. Tragedeighs “Cora Bentley, 12, Addison Squires, seven, and Adley Christopher”

  22. Maybe she should start influencing her kids better 👍

  23. Those who say there is no harm in taking your kids out during term time are really missing the bigger picture

Schools do block learning, you spend a few weeks on something and move on to the next, you take your kid out, they miss that block, you take your kid out the teacher either has to rewrite the block to accommodate or has to spend more time preparing make up for them. You do it often enough your child will fall behind.

The child also returns and disrupts the flow of the class, if 25 kids are in the class but there is 2 to 3 out at any one time then the whole class is starting to suffer – but you getting your 10 days all inclusive in Marbs or where ever easyjet has a cheap deal is more important –

and no your child is not getting an education while away unless you count “raising my voice and speaking slowly to the locals so they might understand me better” or “if the pool bar opens at 11am and we get pool side for the lounge chairs at 9am how many hours are we waiting” an education then you’re an idiot.

How about, if you can’t do it during the many holidays on offer – you don’t always go.

  24. Deserves it just for naming her kids horrible names like that 🤣🤣 . Can we just go back to normal names please 🙏

  25. This is getting ridiculous. Every kid should be allowed not to appear in school for 10 working days in a year. A simple letter “my kid will be taking a holiday 8-12 October in addition to the October break of 12-19” should be enough. As long as it is not exams period, not the first or the last week of the year, no one needs to lose their sleep over it. Why make the parents pay for ridiculous amounts of money to go on a holiday? Why make people feel guilty or face jail for wanting their kid to make a few memories before the grandparents die?

  26. For those seemingly unaware, school is about getting kids used to the 9-5 working life they’ll have to get used to for their long miserable life of servitude. Governments don’t go hard on this because they give a shit about children learning, because we’re talking about slight degrees of information remembered, not the difference of kids being able to read and write or not, it’s maginal. The system is in place to at the least provide droids for the machine to continue function for money to flow upwards. Taking kids out of term time simply does not remotely jeopardise that, what it does it is affect travel company profits.

People don’t have to be so predictably tedious to allow their pointless hatred of influencers to sway them here. She’s right, the government don’t own peoples children, it’s insane.
