  5. Blows my mind how kids this young can get into stuff like this. Aged 12/13 and caught carrying drugs and a knife then escalated over the years? Something seriously gone wrong there.

  7. I used to be kind of friends with a guy who was a detective.

    I asked him once what the biggest difference was from TV and novels, and his answer was that in fiction the cops are always up against criminal mastermind, but in reality 99% of the “customers” were thick as shit.

On the rare occasions I have seen shows where cameras follow the police in Rotherham or Stevenage they often spot a van being driven erratically and too fast and with no tax or MOT and notice the tires are bald. When they pull the van over it’s filled with thousands of pounds worth of stolen good or drugs.

    Always makes me think about how if I were a criminal I’d make sure that I drive within the law and my vehicles have tax and MOT and give the police no reason to stop me. I bet there are some smart criminals out there who don’t get caught.
