I’ve been thinking about how our IT systems are set up at my workplace, and technically if he’s letting a bunch of kids root through databases and search whatever they want, there are going to be logs — lots of logs. Assuming the IT people in charge of these departments set up any kind of auditing procedures, I seriously doubt those in DOGE would be able to circumvent all of them or hide what they’re searching through.

    The only glimmer of hope I have with this entire shit show is that they’re doing all this stuff thinking they’re immune, while not having the technical knowledge to actually remove all the traces of shit they’ve done. If democrats end up with a majority during midterms, they’ll *hopefully* not be fucking idiots about it and instantly be able to ask for all logs related to DOGE and try to criminally charge them with whatever they’ve done.

    Do I think this’ll actually happen? Unfortunately not. But man, what I wouldn’t give to see every person in DOGE willingly doing this shit thown in jail. That’d take actual balls from democrats, though, so chances are next to zero.

  33. In college in the 1990s I took a couple of PoliSci courses.

    One of the things I remember from those classes was the notion that *If you have a nuclear power program, and a space program, then you should be considered a nuclear military power, and we need to take countries like that extremely seriously.*

    Elon Musk already has a space program.

    You think Elon Musk is insufferable now, just wait until he’s one-man a nuclear military power.

    He has also previous talked about terraforming Mars by nuking the polar caps. So attaining nuclear weapons is something he’s put serious thought into.

    The window to do something about billionaires is rapidly closing. They might be very close to achieving M.A.D. capabilities.
