The Croatian Ministry of Economy published a funding call for the development of charging infrastructure for electric buses. The total support amounts to 50 million euros, with eligible applicants including small, medium and large enterprises, as well as companies established by public institutions.
The call aims to establish at least 150 charging points on private property, exclusively for the beneficiaries’ vehicles. Each project must include a feasibility study with a cost-benefit analysis, as well as a climate risk and vulnerability assessment. Applications can be submitted from 3 March to 31 August, with an installation deadline of 30 June 2026.
Eighteen organisations have already expressed interest, seeking 46 million euros to install 242 charging points. In total, investments are expected to reach 200 million euros.
The initiative aims to develop alternative fuel infrastructure for public transport, promote sustainable mobility and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure is also allocating funds for the procurement of electric buses.
