Craig and Lindsay Foreman, who were on a motorbike trip across the world, were arrested in January but news of their detention emerged on Thursday when state-run Iranian media reported they were being held on unspecified security charges.

    It’s pretty naive to think that Iran will just wave you through with a cheery smile, with some tea and doughnuts.

    I get Iran is beautiful, and so historical.

    But it’s not the sort of place you can just go right now. It’s always a fluid situation and sometimes it’s safer than others, but right now?

    They’re nobodies of importance who will now be used as bargaining chips.

    And not to mention the excess work this is not causing for the Foriegn Office.

  7. There own stupid fault for going. There are millions of places around the globe to visit, don’t go to Iran, Russia or NK and be surprised if you get arrested for some bullshit charge. I hope we don’t give Iran something for the return.

  8. I don’t know how I feel about this. On the one hand, it reassures me to know that there are idiots from every country on the other hand. It’s depressing to know there are so many idiots out there.

  11. Iran kidnapping European citizens happens so frequently, and this kind of people give Iran a great opportunity to extort our countries. Ridiculous that traveling to Iran is not prohibited
