  1. Speaking at the event in north London, Farage said the Labour Government had a “sinister agenda” to obtain “lots of land because they’re planning for another five million people to come into the country”.

His comments echo those from TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson, who previously wrote in The Sun that he was “convinced” that Labour had “a sinister plan” to “ethnically cleanse the countryside of farmers” to make room for “immigrants and net-zero wind farms.”

Donald Trump has also cited the theory, which has been dubbed The Great Replacement. The theory summarises suspicions that progressive immigration policies aim to replace white people in the west.

Regional chairman for the National Farmers Union (NFU) Joe Stanley said he was “disgusted” by Farage’s claims, adding that farmers were becoming “an increasingly fertile ground for the far-right”.

He added: “Farmers feel so completely betrayed by the mainstream political parties of both colours, they are understandably veering off into the populist right-wing world of conspiracy theories and extremism.

“It will end in disaster because populism always does, but I don’t blame farmers for desperately looking for answers.”

We had 14 years of decline because we listened to people like Farage, lets not go into another by listening to him again.

Edit: Afternoon Telegram users, took a while for this to hit your site.

  2. Joe Stanley’s comments are brilliant. A really good rebuke without mincing words about his view on the mainstream parties.

  3. rich land owners wanting to avoid paying the same taxes as everyone else:

British Public “Yay! you guys go”.

WOrking people trying to bring attention to the incoming climate apocalypse we’re doing next to nothing about:

British Public: “Treat them as terrorist and lock them away forever”.

We are doomed as a species.

  4. Jesus H Christ. The government can’t even force developers to build shitty new builds on land already approved for said use in a timely manner. And they’re going to orchestrate a scheme of this magnitude in *checks notes* under 4 years?

How can I capitalise on the far rights stupidity? There’s gotta be a way I can turn their lack of brains into profit.

  5. How the hell is he speaking at a farmers rally there in this hell because of him and Brexit.
Farmers really deserve everything they get.
If they keep listening to the frog face scammer

  6. Won’t someone think of the rich farmers.

Was watching the Tory political party broadcast a couple of days ago and the tractor Kemi got in must’ve cost at least 40 grand

And they’re upset they can’t duck out of paying tax when they die like the rest of us?

  7. The irony of him saying this whilst his Brexit is a primary reason for the insanely high net migration.

You have to be a special kind of stupid to keep falling for his rhetoric.

  8. The population is forecast to rise by 6.6m by 2036 according to the Office of National Statistics. I think it’s reasonable to say we don’t have that much availability in housing stock at the moment.

So yes, many new houses will need to be built to accommodate them. Scarcity of brownfield land would suggest that a significant number of those new houses will be built on farmland

This isn’t a “conspiracy theory” or “far right” just because you dislike the person saying it.

  9. Speaking at the event in north London, Farage said the Labour Government had a “sinister agenda” to obtain “lots of land because they’re planning for another five million people to come into the country”.

If you think people won’t believe that absolute horse shit, listen to an LBC phone in when a Reform supporters on the call.

  10. The UK is pathetic. Letting people like this spread bigoted lies without pushback.

  11. The fact the farmers didn’t lynch him shows how delusional they are about Brexit. Farage has done more to harm farmers in this country than anyone and yet, they aren’t angry at him. It’s like the pope being pushed aside so Judas can speak and the christians cheering him.

  12. Firstly, isn’t this the grifter who is responsible for the loss of many of the subsidies that farmers often relied on because of brexit?

Secondly, at this point anyone voting or supporting farage is endorsing brazen levels of deception and racism within a party. At this point there is no excuse to support him or his party without saying you are okay with racism in our politics.

  13. According to Private Eye, farmers get Capital Gains relief. So if they sell , say a few acres at £10k a pop, they pay capital gains tax. …..but if they flog it with planning permission to build houses on, it can go for up to £500000 and acre, and as long as they use the cash to buy more farmland, they don’t pay capital gains .

Surely farming immigrants is more profitable than wheat?

  14. Any British farmers who still think NF has the answers are fucking morons.

  15. So is it still a conspiracy theory when in 10 years time there are 5 million extra people in the country and much less farmland?

  16. Why is anyone taking notice of farage he’s a quisling, bankrolled by the Russian state.

  17. This man is and always will be an absolute a rated number one bell end.

  18. Nigel wants the end of democracy and for us all to become the Billionaires bitchs.

  19. Whys he dressed like a farmer when he doesn’t know how a shovel works?

  20. I love that his stylist put him in a Barbour jacket and Burberry scarf and flat cap to make him appear as a Londoner’s version of what a farmer looks like. Who’d have thought a banker from London would have such empathy for the farming community, especially after being the architect of Brexit ended their subsidies.

  21. Far-right grifter spreads disinformation. Well, what did they expect!

  22. I think the bigger issue here is that many in the media and with large platforms all have a horse in this race in making use of the tax loophole.

  23. UK news is just bollocks. Don’t believe anything they have had scripted for them to spout out

  24. I think farage will win next election, people have had enough

  25. “The tractor rally, organised by Save British Farming alongside anti-vax campaign group Together Declaration”

Why are the farmers siding with the antivaxxers?

  26. Personally I think it’s more likely that they’ll build solar panels, wind farms and houses on the sold off land. But apparently that a crazy conspiracy theory too. We’ll see!

  27. Yep play on fear then farmers think he is for them at next election if he wins he will sell them all down the river to trumps USA

  28. Why can’t we have this fascist cunt arrested? Hate speech. Treason. Nose firmly planted between Orange Hitler’s arse cheeks…..

  29. Farmers are definitely losing public support. Driving expensive tractors through a city. Why are they not working? If food security is such an important thing. Why not bring all farms into public ownership. Or is there more to this than meets the eye

  30. It’s utterly amazing how the man that was at the forefront of Brexit, is still listened to by anyone. He’s done more damage to this country than almost anyone in the last 50yrs.

But hey, we got our passport colour back 💪

  31. American farmers thought Trump had the answers, our farmers should ask how things are going for them.

  32. Aah, Cunty McCuntface doing his thing.

I don’t wish misery on many people, but this little piece of shit is someone I wish suffers all of the misery possible

  33. In related news, the pope is Catholic and bears crap in the woods.

Of course he did, that’s what he does.

  34. Well thank god farmers arnt the type to buy into conspiracy theories and bull shit ultimately leading them to vote blondy against their own interests. /S

  35. Its the billionaires that have the foresight to see that farmland is the next gold. Why are billionaires all over the world buying farmland. Labour is just making it easier for them by forcing farmers to sell. Yes a son of a farmer might inherit a farm with a value over 1 million but it might only generate 60k in profit or less for growing food for people. These farmers cant afford to pay 200k. They might have to sell. Who is going to buy, who can afford it.
