Kate Middleton and Prince William are sitting out of the 2025 British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs).

The royal couple will not be attending the annual awards ceremony at London’s Royal Festival Hall on Sunday, Feb. 16, as they are on vacation on the private island of Mustique in the Caribbean, according to a report from The Mail on Sunday

William, 42, and Kate, 43, arrived on the island with their three kidsPrince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6 — on Thursday, Feb. 13, per the outlet.

A source told The Mail on Sunday that the couple flew to Saint Lucia before taking a private flight to Mustique.

PEOPLE previously reported on Feb. 10 that the royal couple would be missing the awards show, despite Prince William being the president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.

Instead, he is set to appear in a video package as part of the awards. William also visited the London Screen Academy on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

The Prince of Wales is a regular on the red carpet at the annual ceremony, often accompanied by his wife.

The two most recently attended the event together in 2023, and William attended the event solo in 2024, shortly after it was announced that Kate had undergone abdominal surgery.

A month later, the Princess of Wales revealed that she was undergoing treatment for cancer.

The tropical vacation marks the royal family’s second getaway this year.

The Mail on Sunday reported last month that Kate joined Prince William and their three kids — as well as members of the Middleton family — for a ski getaway in the Alps

An onlooker who saw Kate on vacation told the outlet that the family “seemed to be really happy,” adding: “Kate looked like she was having a lovely time.”
