European industrial developer CTP has announced a €57m ($59.7m) investment in a new project for Hitachi Energy at CTPark Brno in the Czech Republic.
The project focuses on constructing a high-voltage products factory, with an expected yield on cost exceeding 10%.
The 50,000m² factory will produce gas-insulated lines and components for gas-insulated switchgear, crucial for electricity transmission and distribution. 200 jobs will be created through the initiative.
The site will feature advanced production technologies, including friction stir welding, a robotised powder coating facility and a service centre, all tailored to Hitachi Energy’s needs.
Hitachi Energy Czech Republic and Slovakia country managing director Pavel Kovář stated: “Our factory in Brno is one example of our commitment to rapidly expand our global capacity to meet the accelerating demand generated by the transition to clean energy.
“This project in CTPark Brno will provide us with an ideal background for the production of our eco-efficient EconiQ portfolio, which eliminates the use of sulphur hexafluoride (SF6), the most potent greenhouse gas, from high-voltage equipment. Our investment of over Kč1.1bn will increase production capacity and address the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions.”
