90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days star, Vanja Grbic clarifies what really happened on her return trip to Croatia. Vanja originally visited Croatia to meet her long-distance boyfriend, Božo Vrdoljak. However, things wouldn’t end well with Božo since he only referred to Vanja as a friend. He also had broken up with Vanja in the past to reconnect with his ex-girlfriend. Heartbroken and angered, Vanja would return to the dating apps on the same trip and meet Josko.
When meeting Josko, it all felt like things were too good to be true. The pair got along very well and were head over heels for each other. They were both ready to commit to each other with Vanja prepared to become a stepmother to Josko’s son! However, things would eventually crumble apart between them. Despite the relationship ending messily with Josko breaking Vanja’s trust by recording them intimate without permission, she ended up returning to Croatia again! While the Tell All made it look like Vanja returned just to see Josko, she now attempts to claim the opposite.
Vanja’s Explanation for Her Return Trip to Croatia
On February 4th, 2025, Vanja posted a TikTok video explaining her return trip to Croatia. Her caption reads, “Many people have been wondering why did I even go to Croatia after everything that transpired with Joško…Out of an entire two week trip, I only spent a few hours with him. I am definitely not hoping to rekindle that relationship whatsoever.” Vanja claims that she never planned to return to Josko during her trip which goes against what she said at the Tell All.
In the video, Vanja states that she only went on the trip after the breakup because it was non-refundable. “I didn’t want it to go to waste and this was originally supposed to be a trip where I get to meet his child.” Since Vanja and Josko broke up, she spent her trip visiting neighboring countries including Croatia as a sort of “hot girl summer” trip. She would attend several music festivals as well as visit her family in Bosnia. “Out of all that time, I saw Josko for only two hours.”
What Vanja’s Explanation Means
Vanja’s explanation of what happened on her second trip to Croatia completely contradicts what she said on the Tell All. When asked if she traveled back to the country to see Josko, she bluntly confirmed it. While this could be due to the editing of the segment, Vanja doesn’t state anything that suggests otherwise. Other cast members also questioned her decision, yet she still had nothing to say about it.
Vanja’s explanation to me is questionable. While it’s believable that the trip was non-refundable, she should have stated this at the Tell All. Doing so completely changes the narrative if true. However, her long-winded explanation now makes it sound like she’s trying to cover up her tracks. She also states in the video that she and Josko went out to eat and that’s it. So I guess the “makeout session” never happened either? It all just doesn’t add up.
